Privacy Policy

NurseClock ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application designed to help nurses and shift workers manage their alarm schedules. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

NurseClock is designed with your privacy in mind. The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Alarm data (times, labels, repeat schedules, snooze settings, and sound preferences)
• App settings (time format, default view, auto-delete preferences, default snooze duration, and default alarm sound)
• Calendar import URLs you choose to save for convenience (up to 5 URLs, stored locally)
• Auto-sync configuration data, if you enable automatic calendar synchronization (sync frequency preference, last sync timestamp, and import preferences such as alarm time offset and sound selection)

This data is stored using on-device storage and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

2. Calendar Import and Auto-Sync Feature

NurseClock allows you to import shift schedules from calendar services (such as NurseGrid) by providing a calendar URL. When you use this feature:

• The App fetches your calendar data directly from the URL you provide using a secure HTTPS connection.
• Calendar data is processed on your device to create alarms. Only the event start times and shift titles from the calendar feed are used; no other calendar data is retained.
• You may optionally save calendar URLs locally on your device for future convenience. These URLs are never shared with us or any third party.
• You can delete saved URLs at any time from within the App.

Automatic Calendar Synchronization (Auto-Sync): If you enable auto-sync, the App will periodically re-fetch your calendar data to keep your alarms up to date with your shift schedule. When auto-sync is enabled:

• The App automatically adds alarms for new shifts, updates alarm labels for changed shifts, and removes alarms for shifts that have been deleted from your calendar.
• Auto-sync occurs when you open the App, when you return to the App from the background, and may also occur via iOS Background App Refresh at system-determined intervals (see Section 4).
• The calendar URL you configure for auto-sync is stored locally on your device alongside your sync preferences (such as sync frequency and alarm settings).
• You can disable or delete auto-sync configurations at any time from within the App. Disabling auto-sync stops all automatic calendar fetching for that configuration.

3. Notifications and Alarms

The App uses iOS AlarmKit to schedule and deliver alarm alerts. Alarms are scheduled entirely on your device and may appear on your Lock Screen and bypass Silent Mode when permitted by your device settings. All alarm scheduling and processing happens locally on your device. No alarm or notification data is sent to external servers.

4. Background Activity

If you enable auto-sync, the App may use iOS Background App Refresh to periodically fetch calendar data from the URLs you have configured. This background activity:

• Only fetches calendar data from URLs you have explicitly provided and configured for auto-sync.
• Is controlled by iOS, which determines when and how often background fetches occur based on your usage patterns and system conditions.
• Does not transmit any of your data to our servers or any party other than the calendar service at the URL you provided.
• Can be disabled at any time by turning off auto-sync within the App, or by disabling Background App Refresh for NurseClock in your device's Settings > General > Background App Refresh.

5. Audio

NurseClock includes bundled alarm sounds that play from files stored within the App. The App does not record audio or access your device's microphone.

6. Third-Party Services

The App interacts with the following third-party services:

RevenueCat — We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases for NurseClock Pro. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat processes your transaction data (such as purchase receipts and subscription status) to verify and manage your subscription. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or other personal identifiers from us. For more information, see RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Third-Party Calendar Services — When you use the calendar import or auto-sync features, the App connects directly to calendar service URLs you provide (such as NurseGrid or other ICS feed providers) to fetch your schedule data. These connections are made directly between your device and the third-party calendar service; your calendar data does not pass through our servers. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices, availability, or data handling of these third-party calendar services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any calendar service you choose to connect with.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services.

7. Information We Do Not Collect

To be clear, NurseClock does not collect, access, or process any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Health or medical data
• Contacts or address book data
• Photos, camera, or microphone data
• Browsing history or usage analytics
• Advertising identifiers or tracking data
• Device identifiers for cross-app tracking
• Your device's local calendar database (the App only reads ICS feeds from URLs you provide)

8. Data Storage and Retention

All App data is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain servers that store your data.

The App includes an optional auto-delete feature that automatically removes old non-recurring alarms after a time period you choose (1 day to 3 months, or never). You can configure this in Settings.

Deleting the App from your device removes all associated data permanently, including alarm data, saved calendar URLs, auto-sync configurations, and app settings.

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. External data transmissions from the App are limited to:

• RevenueCat for subscription management, as described in Section 6.
• Third-party calendar services you choose to connect with via the calendar import and auto-sync features. These requests go directly from your device to the calendar service and do not pass through our servers.

10. Children's Privacy

NurseClock is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Your Privacy Rights

For users in the European Economic Area (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. Because NurseClock stores data only on your device and does not collect personal data on our servers, these rights are inherently satisfied. You have full control over your data through the App and your device settings.

For California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. NurseClock does not collect, sell, or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the App and on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
